The Season of Advent, which prepares us for Christmas, gives weight to the hope of the People of God, bringing into the present their centuries-long waiting. The Lord is close. The Lord will come. The Lord is kind and will visit us. I’d like to ask us, in these weeks, to turn our hearts towards the One-Who-Is-Being-Born, to look forward in hope and in watchfulness to the coming of the Sun of Justice, Christ our Lord.
