They built our house in 1976. Having laid the last brick, they planted an ornamental cherry tree. In the years we have lived here, the tree has filled our little back garden with colour and life. In May, its blossom brought the wild bees in droves; all year round, robins sang from its branches. Alas, ornamental cherry trees do not live long; three years ago, ours died.
