Parsons Green terror attack: piety is on the side of peace


 

The attack on a London underground train at Parsons Green, West London, which could have killed dozens if the explosive device had not misfired, was a stark reminder that home-grown terrorism has become part of the fabric of everyday life. Perpetrators are generally motivated by an ideology of Islamic jihadism, and may have acquired their bomb-making knowledge over the internet. But they tend not to stand out from the crowd.
