Certain wags say that the Church of England’s main job is to be a testing ground for the Catholic Church. But with the C of E edging ever closer to having women bishops, we are a very long way from experiments over the role of women edging out of the Anglican lab into the Catholic world.And yet with a new Pope and his comments about the need for a new theology of women, there has been speculation about change in Catholicism too.
