By the time you read this article it could already be out of date, so I won’t make too many bold claims or attempt to pick an outright winner from Thursday’s election. But barring a major upset on the day or faulty polling getting it consistently wrong, the Scottish National Party (SNP) looks set to make significant gains in the general election.If the pollsters are correct, then the SNP is on track to take most of the Scottish Westminster seats. In the last Parliament, the SNP had just six MPs. Much of the gain is predicted to be at the expense of Labour.
