I’ve just attended my first gay wedding. Two long-standing and very dear friends, originally of my wife’s, now of our whole family, got married on a sunny Friday lunchtime on the south coast, surrounded by their families, and those closest to them. There was a general sense among us of “what on earth has taken you so long?” because the fifty-something grooms had in every other way committed their lives to each other three decades ago. I agree with you whole-heartedly. I've had the honour of attending two civil partnership ceremonies and their resemblance to every other wedding I've ever attended was what struck me most about both. Love unites us with God. God does not intend us to make life difficult for anyone by placing impossible burdens on them. I hope and pray that a time may come when our Church accepts and blesses any loving faithful relationship whether the partners are straight or gay.

My partner of 42 years and I thank you for your wonderful comments.

We have not yet married ... don't want to rush into these things, you know.

As far as kids ..... maybe later.
