It is facile to dismiss Labour’s nationalisation proposals as Marxist04 October 2017 | by Clifford Longley
Articles keep appearing in the Tory press warning that the Conservative Party is in terrible trouble. They say free-market capitalism, which it exists to defend, is losing its legitimacy. It makes too few people richer and keeps too many poor. While the average age of party members is 72, there is nothing equivalent to the youthful left-wing activism that the “Marxist Jeremy Corbyn” has so massively inspired. Labour has answers to the nation’s problems, even if wrong ones, while the Tories cannot even agree on the questions. And so on.
