Nothing on Earth
CONOR O’CALLAGHAN

This utterly captivating debut novel revolves around a ghost estate in Ireland: one with actual ghosts. Helen returns home from continental Europe along with her partner Paul and their 12-year-old daughter, who speaks German. Helen’s twin sister also trails along. But once back in Ireland – in the middle of an ordinary day and with no apparent warning – Helen goes missing from the estate where they live. Nobody knows why.

After this shock, the estate is gradually denuded of its other residents and visitors. They are replaced by phantom sounds and half-imagined glimpses of faces. The security guard leaves for England. The shyster manager is chased away. Even the water supply dries up. Helen’s sister mysteriously vanishes.
