This “astonishing compendium” catalogues the work of an artist described as “the father of new romanticism in English glass”. Patrick Reyntiens is 88 yet still an exuberant presence working at the top of his form; he has completed almost 100 commissions and made over 600 autonomous panels. His best-known works, the mighty lantern which crowns Liverpool’s Catholic cathedral, the great baptistry window at Coventry, the eight windows for Eton College Chapel, are among the 60 commissions undertaken with John Piper, a sympathetic meeting of Catholic and Anglican minds.
