Ant-Man is, for a superhero, rather ordinary. He does not manifest the brooding introversion of the Hulk; he is not fuelled by grievance or injustice as Spider-Man is; he is not locked into conflict on a mythical scale like Thor. Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) has just had things turn out not so well – a short prison term (for Robin Hood-type crime against evil big business) and divorce form of adversity.In the same way, the powers conferred on him by a scientist are neat but not necessarily spectacular. He cannot shake galaxies or fling fireballs but he does become very small yet retain full-size strength. His real weapon is surprise.
