The Gunpowder Plot becomes more relevant every day.That, at least, was the premise of Gunpowder 5/11: The Great Terror Plot (22 October) – a compelling drama-documentary that drew parallels between the desperate efforts of those who, in 1605, attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament and modern terrorists. Rarely did it make direct comparisons; we followed the action, based on the confession of Thomas Wintour, one of the leaders of the plot, and drew our own conclusions.The 13 plotters were young, dynamic men, but, as Dr Clare Jackson of Trinity Hall, Cambridge, put it:
