Several events mark the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. And while Thomas Eccleshare’s play isn’t formally intended as a tribute, the timing of its premiere is a fitting coincidence.

Max and Harry, portrayed by Jane Horrocks and Mark Bonnar, are a childless couple in the later twenty-first century, who, rather than following Dr Frankenstein in creating a man from body parts, put together a teenage robot son from a flat-pack.
