Stories about extreme weather events – such as the disaster movies Twister and The Perfect Storm – are a recognised fictional subgenre. But while Pressure, the third play by the actor-writer David Haig, takes the form of a gripping thriller about a storm, it is of an unusually serious kind. The disaster involved would be the possible loss of the Second World War.
