Life is cruel. No sooner had the new album by The Killers reached the top of the Billboard charts, making Wonderful Wonderful the first album by a Nevada band to score a number one, than a real killer determined that Las Vegas, usually associated with lounge and rhinestone acts, should for ever after be associated with murder. Yet this is one of the best rock records of the past two decades.
